Why is it that EVERY time I try to log on to dA, I get sent to the 'internet explorer cannot display webpage'... uh... webpage?
EVERY FRICKING TIME. And then I refresh and it redirects me to a page that's solely for logging in. I have to log on to dA twice, everytime. Frankly, it's not a huge deal, because it always lets me on the second time, except it's incredibly bloody annoying.
My head hurts...
(Oh, and our cable box has decided it doesn't want to produce sound. Roku/DVD player = sound from the television. Cable box = bupkis. I can't watch South Park, or Supernatural, or *COUGH*glee*COUGH*. I mean... I could try, but South Park's closed captioning is AWFUL, and- Well, even though I use the CC for everything, anway, it's really not the same without sound.)

One week down
So, exactly one week ago was the last time I ever saw my baby alive. I got off work at five, and went to see her, told her to be strong. And... Friday morning, we found out she had passed away the previous evening at around nine.
As I work until ten, I expect this to be a particularly rough shift.
My mother pointed out that this will be the first time in twenty-six years that we won't have a sheltie. And for me, it will be the first time since my first year of life that I haven't had a sheltie. But... Misty had a good run, at fourteen years... Even if our first sheltie, Chelsea, beat her at sixteen.

Otherwise, things have been kind of bleak lately. My sheltie, Misty, is not doing well at all. She had a sore on her left front leg (from constantly lying on hard floors -despite dogbed alternatives-) which is taking forever to heal. I've made journal posts for stupider reasons. I just want to share my elation on the comment improvements dA's finally gotten around to making! Now I don't have to deal with the embarassment of posting comments to the wrong person, or for making an observation that I realize has been pointed out a thousand times before me.

Why I'm grateful for 'Black Sails'
Okay, so because I was a big fan of- Um... Well, the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, I thought I'd give Black Sails a shot: Thinking it would be a caring and critical look at the Age of Piracy. I wasn't expecting a thoroughly accurate representation, but I thought it would be a more realistic view.
But after one and a half episodes, I found it to be less a reflection of (or even a forgivable 'love letter' to) that time period, and more another over-gored, over-sexed cash cow for mainstream indulgence, dealing in heavy-handed and convoluted relationships and plots as a response to (I assume) the Game of Thrones series. Half the time I'm logging on at my workplace which, despite being a computer lab, I don't believe has the latest version. (IT likes to lock lab employees out of our own computers, and then refuse to update them.) But I get the same issue when I log on with my netbook, or iPod. I use Safari for my iPod, but I'm pretty sure my netbook's IE is up to date.
